January & April 2019
This year is the first year I have sent out invitations to join me on a meditation retreat. 30 individuals answered the call and signed up to the dates dover two days – the first 15 in January with the other 15 joining me in April.
The retreat was held at The Old Rectory Clinic in Iron Acton and the grounds surrounding it were the perfect backdrop. On arrival, the attendees all met in the reception and enjoyed a cup of tea before they made their way upstairs to discover a goody bag waiting for them on their chair (with practical gifts inside).
Throughout the day, the attendees went on a wonderful journey through many different types of meditation and they were invited to journal their experience too. During the afternoon session, there was an option to either enjoy an outdoor meditation or to stay indoors for a creative mindfulness excercise. Despite the weather on both of days (very windy!), some still took the opportunity to enjoy the very fresh air, whilst the others found the creative exercise very meditative.
I had so many favourite moments: one in particular was how well everyone bonded; another was dancing to the church bells that ringing in the church next door; the buffet lunch was incredible too; and seeing everyone lying down together to enjoy the body scan was just amazing too.
Here are some of the testimonials received:
“I just wanted to say thank you for such a wonderful, relaxing and refreshing day today. It was just what my mind and body needed. I hope you know how much we all appreciate you and the amazing experience you share with us all ❤️ keep being amazing and doing what you do. Your contemplation card couldn’t have been any truer – you really do make a difference.”
“Thank you for a very enjoyable day. You worked so hard to make it a special day for all of us. Opening the goodie bags was like having a birthday present and I loved the golden hearts on the bags. Thank you for the pebbles and cards they will remind us of what we learnt and of our special day in the beautiful rectory.”
“Thank you so much for the Retreat Day yesterday. It was fantastic . My anxiety levels had been building over the last week and I came away feeling so much more calm.”
“A huge and grateful thanks for the meditation day last Saturday. I enjoyed it from start to finish. I came home feeling peaceful and calm. I would recommend anyone to experience one of your retreat days. Perfect setting too.”
